Learning WordPress – Uploading an Image
Today we will be covering uploading an image to your post on a WordPress blog. Go ahead and log into your blog and we can begin at the “Dashboard.”
- From your WordPress blog’s “Dashboard,” find the “Add New Posts” link by hovering your mouse over the ‘Posts’ link. Click the small down-arrow that appears to reveal the sub-menu. Click “Add New” and you will end up at the “Add New Posts” page.
- Open a new window (ctrl+N) or tab (ctrl+T), and go to your main website. Choose a product to make a post about, and open its description page.
- Save a copy of the product’s image to an easy to find location for later on, such as your Desktop.
- Highlight and copy the product’s name, then switch back over to the “Add New Posts” page. To switch between Tabs, such as your blog and your website, press ‘Ctrl+Tab’. To switch between windows, press ‘Alt+Tab’.
- Paste the title into the designated area.
- Find the “Add an Image” link next to the words “Upload/Insert,” and click there to bring up a window titled “Add Media Files From Your Computer.”
- Click the “Select Files” button, and find the product image you saved earlier. Click “Open.” Make sure the Title is the actual name of the product. Copy/paste the URL from your product’s page from your website, and paste it into the field labeled “Link URL.”
- Click “Insert into Post” on bottom of the screen. The image will appear in the post’s body.
